Beautiful DEVON takes the reader on a tour around this lovely county at the heart of southwest England, showcasing through Nigel Hicks's vibrant photography many of its most beautiful and exciting places and events.

Beginning with a general chapter that introduces Devon to the reader, the book is then divided into a series of photo essays that take it in turns to focus on each region of the county, highlighting some of their best features.

Places visited range from the high moors of Devon's two national parks, Dartmoor and Exmoor, to the popular north and south coast beaches, its quaint coastal harbours (such as Dartmouth and Appledore) its rural towns, and its three main urban areas - Plymouth, Exeter and Torbay. Events covered include some of Devon's many agricultural shows, Shaldon's Water Carnival, Plymouth's annual national fireworks championships, and Ottery St Mary's amazing Tar Barrels festival held every November.
